One of Napa Valley 's newest tasting rooms sits in downtown St. Helena, the heart of Cabernet country. But visitors won't find a single Cabernet Sauvignon there. Instead, Newfound Wines is one of the few California producers specializing in Grenache. Founders Matt and Audra Naumann hope they can help improve the reputation of the stigmatized grape, which one described as having 'an identity crisis' here. Grenache, a red wine popularized by Spain and southern France's Rhone Valley, falls within the top 10 for red grapes produced in California, according to the 2022 California Grape Crusher Report.
